.1 Separations - Automatic Resignation (Abandonment of Position)

Purpose

This process is used to separate a permanent employee who has been absent without
official leave (AWOL) for over five (5) continuous working days.

Situational Trigger

Department decides to separate a PCS employee who has completed probation after continuous unauthorized absence.

  1. Best Practice Tip: Give employee five days from the date of the letter to contact Department HR
